Licence & terms
One page, plain English. If something here is unclear, ask before you buy — a question answered beats a refund.
What you are buying
A one-time licence to fetch Motion Menu patterns — their HTML, CSS and JavaScript — through the MCP server, the HTTP endpoints, or the shadcn registry. You are not buying a hosted service that your site depends on. Nothing calls home.
What each plan permits

“Hand a built site to a client” means you may build a website for someone else, ship Motion Menu patterns inside it, and transfer that finished website to them. The client receives the site, not access to the library. If they want to fetch patterns themselves, they need their own licence.
What you already shipped stays yours
Once a pattern is transplanted into your page it is your code. You may edit it, keep it, and keep it live indefinitely. If a key is ever revoked — a refund, for instance — nothing reaches into what you already shipped, and no site of yours stops working. This is the single most common worry about buying a code library, so it is stated first and plainly.
What is not permitted
- Redistributing the library, or a substantial part of it, as a collection.
- Reselling access, or publishing pattern source as your own pattern library, course or kit.
- Sharing an API key outside your plan's seats. Keys are per person, not per company.
- Using the library to train a model whose purpose is to reproduce it.
Ordinary things that are fine: reading the public catalogue, quoting a pattern in a blog post or tutorial with a link, and using a pattern in a paid client project on the Lifetime licence.
Addressing — what will not change under you
Every pattern has a permanent slug and a permanent URL. Numbers are
stable aliases, so /p/150.json and
/p/velocity-image-bend.json return the same bytes and both
keep resolving. Categories are tags, so the catalogue can be reorganised
without moving anything you depend on. New patterns are added; existing
ones are not silently rewritten. There is
no promised release cadence — this is a commitment
about addressing, not about volume.
Payment and refunds
- Lifetime is a single one-time payment of $149. No subscription, no renewal, no recurring charge, and no trial period.
- 14-day refund, no questions asked, one per customer. Email and it is done.
- Every new pattern is included in your Lifetime licence at no extra charge, forever — see “Addressing” above for what that commitment covers and does not.
- Prices can change for future buyers with notice. A price change never affects a licence you already bought.
No warranty
Patterns are provided as-is. The public catalogue is the specification — every pattern runs in your browser at the catalogue before you pay, which is a better guarantee than any warranty clause. Some patterns need a capable browser (WebGPU, Gaussian splats, webcam access) and say so on the card. Liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
Support
Support is one person and email. Expect a real answer, usually within a couple of days. There is no phone line and no SLA, and no tier here pretends otherwise. If a pattern is broken, say so and it gets fixed.
Your data
- Stored: your email, a SHA-256 hash of your API key, and per-call usage (which pattern, when). The key itself is never stored — that is why a lost key is rotated rather than recovered.
- Payment details are held by Stripe. We never see a card number.
- No analytics or tracking scripts on the catalogue or the storefront.
- Ask and your account and its data are deleted.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, existing customers are emailed before the change takes effect for them, and the version above changes. Prior versions are kept in the repository's git history.
